TEAM mastery and Centro Reach have initiated the technical consultations with companies in order to set up a TASK FORCE and submit the biocidal product family dossiers based on Quaternary ammonium salts according to Regulation (EU) No 528/2012
After 6 months from the collection, verification and elaboration of technical information on Benzalkonium Chloride (ADBAC-BKC C12-16; CAS: 68424-85-1) and Didecyl-dimethyl-ammonium Chloride (DDAC; CAS:68424-95-3) formulations shared by a large group of Italian companies, TEAM mastery and Centro Reach are now defining the organization of the Biocidal Product Family (BPF) structure in compliance with the latest provisions reported in the guideline CA-July19-Doc.4.2-Final published in 2019.
The experience gained within the Task Force on Sodium Hypochlorite for the submission of biocidal product family dossiers in December 2018, and the consistent work of harmonization of the formulations shared by each company participating in the project allow the establishment of this new Task Force., The Task Force will work with a precise scientifical and technical strategy of drafting biocidal product family dossiers.
The opinions of the Biocidal Products Committee (BPC) concerning the combinations of the two Quaternary Ammonium Salts with Product Type 3 and 4 (PT) have been published only in October 2020, while the opinion also for PT 1 and 2 is expected by the end of 2021. TEAM mastery and Centro Reach are proposing to already start working with the drafting of the biocidal product family dossiers in order to organize as soon as possible the pre-submission meeting with the Competent Authority that will be responsible for the submission of the applications and thus anticipate the evaluation which is further delayed due to the COVID-19 emergency.
