The results of the second EU-wide biocides enforcement project (BEF-2) on the presence of unapproved chemicals in biocidal products for professionals and consumers sold on the EU/EEA and Swiss markets were examined by the Forum’s BPRS. The final report on the project will be released during 2023.
The next significant biocide enforcement initiative (BEF-3) will concentrate on ensuring that product labels for biocidal products are accurate. This decision was made by the Forum’s subcommittee on Biocidal Products Regulation (BPRS). Inspectors will verify that the data on biocide labels matches the authorized information contained in the Summary of Product Characteristics. As necessary for biocidal products, inspectors can also verify the accuracy and completeness of the information in the Safety Data Sheets during this period. The next scheduled sessions are planned to take place in March 2024.
