During the European Commission’s REACH Committee assembly of 26 April 2023, EU Member States voted in favor of the proposal to restrict microplastics that are intentionally added to products. The proposal follows ECHA findings that microplastics pose a risk to the environment that is not adequately controlled at the moment.
The Commission’s draft regulation will be scrutinised by the European Parliament and Council before its adoption.
