Following the Board of Appeal (BoA) decision of June 29, 2021, that affects registration requirements for monomer and polymer importers and manufacturers, ECHA updated accordingly its monomer and polymer guidance.
The guidance “Analysis of alternatives to biocidal active substances for applicants and authorities: a recommended framework guidance”, released on January 2023, helps companies and authorities to analyse alternatives to biocidal active substances that meet the substitution criteria under the Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR).
Companies have withdrawn their interest in getting p-[(diiodomethyl)sulphonyl]toluene approved as a preservative for products during storage, film preservatives, fibre, leather, rubber and polymerised materials preservatives and construction materials preservatives under the biocides Review Programme.
