The European Commission has published the updated guideline “Notes of guidance for the testing of cosmetic ingredients and their safety evaluation” of the Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety (SCCS).
EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) has revised the guidance document on how to assess risks to honey bees, bumble bees and solitary bees. The updated guidance contemplates the most recent scientific acquisitions and adopts a progressive approach for the risk evaluation, considering both bees exposure to pesticides and deriving effects.
We would like to bring to your attention the publication of the first draft of the Guidance on the assessment of risks to bees from the use of biocides, which has been published for written consultation with the European Member States and accredited stakeholders.
The Sewage Sludge Directive (SSD) was no longer matching current needs and expectations, such as properly regulating pollutants found in sludge.
The Commission has launched an initiative which aims at prohibiting the import and/or export of certain hazardous chemicals that are banned in the EU.
EU Member States voted in favor of the proposal to restrict microplastics that are intentionally added to products.
The first Q&A document is now available and by June another batch of questions will be answered.
